P: Mommy, I don’t understand. If Jesus is the son of God, and there is God, are the shepherds the helpers?
Me: No. The shepherd is a metaphor. You know, a shepherd takes care of his sheep the way God takes care of us.
P: But what about the cows? Someone takes care of the cows.
Me: That’s true but that isn’t the metaphor that we use.
Jen: Jesus the cowboy never really took off.

I prefer “Jesus the Ninja” myself, but Jesus the Cowboy is pretty awesome too.
