A late Thanksgiving

I was trying to suffer in silence, but then I thought why? I have a blog where I can complain. So, I was sick on Thanksgiving. I missed out on dinner with the Presbyterians and that was very sad. I won’t go into the details, but I did not want to eat. What god in [...]

Once, when I was a baby femme, an older femme said to me, “Googie, do you know what is wrong with lesbians? They don’t eat enough green beans.”
I decided she was right and vowed to eat green beans whenever and wherever I could. Then one day, I met the love of my life, Jen. And [...]

Not just for Meth Labs anymore

Tonight, I looked at the key words people use to get to my site, and I was amused to see  “Sunnyslope Hell” brought someone here.

Now, there is only one place on the face of the earth called Sunnyslope, and that is my hometown in AZ (it’s not really a town, it’s a section of Phoenix).

Not outlining

In what is becoming a semi-annual tradition here at Mommy on the Floor, I have the “What I am doing while my fellow students are studying” blog post.

We also ran into somebody we knew hanging out with the Christian counter protest. [...]

I was reading a dissenting opinion in an Administrative Law case. In it, Scalia uses the word avulsion. I didn’t know what it meant, so I got out my Websters.
Avulsion: n. The forcible tearing away of a body part by trauma or surgery.
It’s a good word, Scalia. Because studying Administrative Law feels like my flesh [...]

California

As I watched the scenes of unbridled joy last night streaming in from Grant Park, I was getting excited g-chat messages from friends. But I was distracted.
Virgin and I were g-chatting back and forth, anxiously looking at the returns from California. Prop 8 was winning, and we were growing distraught as we hit the refresh [...]

For the iron jawed angels

I voted pretty much the way you would expect a godless liberal would vote. In addition to Mr. Obama and Mr. Kerry, I voted to keep the state income tax, decriminalize pot, and outlaw dog racing.
Actually, I am having a crazy day. I was up super late studying Evidence. Then when I got up in [...]
